Hwang Chi-yeol to sing national anthem, Soyou to throw first pitch at SBS Plus fireworks baseball event

Hwang Chi-yeol and Soyou open the SBS Plus special broadcast 특집 불꽃야구 생중계 — 불꽃 파이터즈 vs 휘문고등학교 at Gocheok Sky Dome on June 28 at 2 PM. Hwang Chi-yeol sings the national anthem. Soyou throws the ceremonial first pitch.

Hwang Chi-yeol is currently charting with his summer track 우리, 여름 (Our Summer). Past national anthem performers for the series include Kim Tae-woo, K.Will, and Lee Seok-hun. Actor Lee Deok-hwa and singer-actor Kim Yo-han have previously thrown the first pitch.

The Fireworks Fighters—a KBO legends squad—face Whimun High School, a program with 119 years of baseball history. Fireworks Fighters captain Park Yong-taek went to Whimun. Oh Seung-hwan, the KBO's all-time saves leader, is also on the Fireworks Fighters roster.

Whimun has its own draw. Catcher Yoo Je-min ranks among the top three high school catchers in the country. Pitcher Lim Ho-yoon has clocked a maximum fastball of 152 km/h. Kim Jung-hyun is noted for his command. (Three prospects worth watching if you care about the next KBO draft cycle.)
