GOLDEN HOUR: Part.5 opened at number one on the Billboard 200, Top Album Sales, and World Albums charts simultaneously. It's ATEEZ's third Billboard 200 chart-topper and their ninth top-10 entry on that chart. On World Albums, it marks their 11th number one.

First-week US sales hit approximately 223,000 copies. That's 8.5 times what Olivia Rodrigo's latest release sold, and more than the combined sales of every album ranked 2nd through 31st on the Top Album Sales chart. The EP landed at number three on vinyl—the only chart where it didn't take the top spot.

The album contains "BAD," released June 26, with a music video that's crossed 22 million views. San's choreography in the chorus was identified as the most-replayed section. Two days after the MV dropped, his Inkigayo performance—white tank top, same routine—became the most-watched clip from that broadcast.

San's pull on new listeners matters here. Pop culture critic Tessa Smith said she "was first drawn to San's love for his body and striking appearance, but the more I watched, the more I fell for the music and voice"—and later attended her first ATEEZ concert. Hollywood newcomer Chase Infinity, an enthusiastic San fan, also appeared in the EP itself.

San is part of ATEEZ's so-called "Demon Line" alongside Hong Joong and Seonghwa. His performance history includes a 2024 Coachella set intense enough to break a microphone and a 2024 MAMA Awards exit where he pulled off and threw his jacket mid-stage. In the Ice On My Teeth MV from GOLDEN HOUR: Part 2, his shirtless scene and suit choreography each ranked as the most-watched segments.

Leader Hong Joong said in a recent live broadcast: "San worked really hard preparing for this activity, and I feel proud seeing so many people recognize it."
