Han Jae-rim developing 'Evil Goes to Hell' with NEW while Disney+ series 'Fascination' awaits release

Director Han Jae-rim is already working on his next project, 악인은 지옥으로 (Evil Goes to Hell), with content production and distribution company NEW. This is happening before his current Disney+ original series 현혹 (Fascination) has even arrived.

The project sits in early development. Casting is underway simultaneously, with multiple top-tier actors in the mix, though no platform is confirmed and the format—film or drama—remains undecided. The script is still being revised. Genre and detailed settings continue to shift. (A French film shares the same title; the two are otherwise unrelated.)

Fascination takes place in 1935 Gyeongseong. Painter Yoon I-ho (Kim Sun-ho) receives a commission to paint the enigmatic Song Jeong-hwa (Suzy) and starts uncovering her secrets. Disney+ will release it in the second half of this year.

Han debuted with 연애의 목적 (Purpose of Love) in 2005. He followed with 우아한 세계 (2007), 관상 (2013), 더 킹 (2016), 비상선언 (2022), and Netflix's 더 에이트 쇼. 관상 drew 9 million admissions and won him the Director Award at the 50th Grand Bell Film Awards. 더 킹 brought him the Screenplay Award at the 54th Grand Bell Film Awards.
