Im Chang-jung Proposes Duet to Yu Seong-eun On-Air After Her 97-Point Performance of His Song

Yu Seong-eun and Im Chang-jung might have a duet in the works. On the July 17 broadcast of TV CHOSUN's 금타는 금요일, Yu Seong-eun showed up as a surprise 'catfish singer' facing off against Im Chang-jung, the episode's 'Golden Star.' She picked his signature track 또다시 사랑 to perform and scored 97 points from both the studio audience and Im Chang-jung himself.

Im Chang-jung was effusive. "I knew you sang well, but today seems like your best," he said on air. Then he pivoted: "I have a song written — would you like to do it with me?" He mentioned he'd send over the track once recording finished, suggesting they could lay it down that evening and drop it the next morning.

Yu Seong-eun called the whole thing surreal. "It's such a great honor. From the moment I heard the senior would appear, I really wanted to be the catfish singer. I wanted to do well, and I'm happy it came across."

Host Kim Sung-joo explained why the moment landed. "In the masked singing program I hosted, whenever I asked 'Is there anyone who can beat the masked king?', Yu Seong-eun's name always came up." The 97 points weren't a shock to anyone paying attention.

No official release date for the collab has been announced beyond what Im Chang-jung said on air.
