JYP Entertainment confirmed July 14 that TWICE is renegotiating contracts, after reports that Tzuyu plans to leave the agency following 11 years.

JYP says TWICE contract talks ongoing as Tzuyu departure report surfaces

JYP Entertainment issued a statement on July 14 confirming that TWICE is currently in a contract renegotiation period. "TWICE is in a contract renegotiation discussion period and we will provide guidance once the matter is confirmed," the agency said.

The announcement followed reports that Tzuyu has decided to leave JYP after 11 years. TWICE's group activities are planned to continue regardless.

Member Jeongyeon had drawn attention after holding discussions with Baro Entertainment—the agency of her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon. Baro Entertainment said: "It is true that we had a meeting, but there is no confirmed matter regarding an exclusive contract."

TWICE debuted in 2015. All members renewed their contracts with JYP in 2022 and completed a world tour.
