RESCENE remakes KARA's 'Pretty Girl' — Nicole joins them on stage 18 years later
RESCENE staged a surprise reunion with KARA's Nicole on M Countdown July 9, debuting their *Pretty Girl* remake — which shot straight to Melon HOT100 #1.
KARA's Nicole walked out on stage July 9 to join RESCENE for a surprise performance of Pretty Girl on Mnet M Countdown. The five-member group (Wonyi, Liv, Minami, May, Zena) closed their set with Nicole, the original Pretty Girl vocalist, for the finale. This marked the track's first music-show performance.
Sixteen years separate the original from this remake. KARA released Pretty Girl as their second mini-album title track in 2008.
Pretty Girl dropped July 8 and climbed fast. Melon HOT100 #1. Melon TOP100 #4. Bugs real-time #1, daily #7. Genie Music TOP 200 #10. FLO #10.
The momentum traces back to LOVE ATTACK, the title track from RESCENE's first mini-album SCENEDORM (August 2024). That song hit Melon TOP100 #1 roughly two years after release — a reverse-charting run that pulled three more catalog tracks into the TOP100 simultaneously: Pinball, Deja Vu, and Runaway. LOVE ATTACK also peaked at FLO #2, Genie Music TOP 200 real-time #4 and daily #5, Bugs daily and real-time #4.
Two chart #1s in one comeback cycle. RESCENE will continue appearing on music broadcasts following the M Countdown performance.
