tvN's '최애의 사원' premieres August 3 — fan-meets-idol office romance with Kim Hye-jun, Cha U-min, Kang Hoon

tvN's 최애의 사원 premieres August 3 at 8:45 PM.

The Mon-Tue drama adapts the Naver Webtoon 우리 오빠는 아이돌 into an office romance about growth and unexpected connections. Kim Hye-jun plays Nam Da-reum, a new hire who spent 12 years as a devoted fan of idol group D.N.X member Lee Chan. Then she gets hired at Apello, the fashion platform Lee Chan co-founded with CEO Kang Ha-gi. Cha U-min plays Lee Chan, working as a fashion director. Kang Hoon plays Kang Ha-gi.

A love-triangle teaser dropped already. Kang Ha-gi turns to Nam Da-reum and asks, "괜찮아요, 남다름 씨?" — the question that sets up everything between the idol she came to see and the boss she never saw coming.

She came to meet her favorite. She ended up becoming his favorite employee instead.

Korean TV is drowning in office dramas right now. 내일도 출근! airs on tvN with Samsung Electronics as official production sponsor. The characters work in the DA business division of fictional 새움전자, developing AI home appliances. A Samsung spokesperson said the collaboration was designed "to deeply convey the efforts of employees to develop the best AI home appliances" and called the global simultaneous broadcast "an opportunity to imprint Samsung Electronics' differentiated AI home appliance technology in the global market."

운명을 보는 회사원 arrives in the first half of next year. The adaptation comes from a web novel that hit 43 million cumulative views on Munpia and Naver Series. 서인국 (currently in 내일도 출근!) and 정수정 lead the cast.

굿파트너 2 is coming too, two years after the original. 장나라 returns as lead attorney 차은경 at a divorce law firm. Season 1's finale hit 21% viewership and earned 장나라 the SBS Acting Award. The body-swap office drama 신입사원 강회장 wrapped recently with ratings around 13%.
