G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung drop 'BiiiG' on Aug 19 — their first single as a trio, first release in 4 years and 4 months — kicking off the 'XX : COSMOS' world tour days later.
BIGBANG will drop digital single BiiiG on the 19th at 6 PM, exactly 20 years to the day after their debut.
It's the first song released under the current three-member lineup of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. The last one came in April 2022 — Spring Summer Fall Winter (Still Life) — making this a 4-year, 4-month gap.
Two days later, the group kicks off XX : COSMOS, their 20th anniversary world tour, at Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsan-seo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. The opening run spans the 21st through the 23rd. The full tour hits 19 cities across 33 performances.
Their solo work over the past year tells you something about who's listening. At G-Dragon's fan concert FAM+ILY : FAMILY : FAM I LOVE YOU in February, 30-somethings led with 36% of ticket sales, followed by 20-somethings at 31.5% and teens at 10.3%. Taeyang's encore concert THE LIGHT YEAR at Incheon Inspire Arena in February 2025 skewed younger: 20-year-olds made up 47.8% of buyers. Daesung's Asia tour Seoul stop D's WAVE IN SEOUL in April last year showed 20-somethings at 50.1%.
An industry official summed it up: "BIGBANG is probably the only group that would not seem out of place appearing on both KBS1's 'Gayo Stage' and KBS2's 'Music Bank'" — meaning their fanbase runs from grandparents to kids. A music producer went further. BIGBANG's songs have been used as learning material in kindergartens and taekwondo academies for years, reaching nursery-rhyme status. "BIGBANG has become the original and classic of K-pop," the producer said. Both BiiiG and the Goyang concerts are expected to draw responses from a very diverse age range.
