BLACKPINK marks 10 years with Weverse Live and 40-fan Meet & Greet — Jisoo apologizes for event scale

BLACKPINK turned ten on August 8, 2026 — exactly a decade after debuting with "Whistle" in 2016. All four members gathered for a commemorative Weverse Live broadcast that afternoon, their first on-screen reunion in a while.

Rosé showed up with a cake and flowers. Jennie called her "our team's romantic" and laughed, then pointed to the comment section: "So many people are congratulating us."

Rosé reflected on the milestone herself. "Time flies when you're having fun — 10 years really did go by fast. It still doesn't feel like 10 years."

Lisa admitted she was too nervous to eat properly. "I only had one shrimp," she said, adding that she spent her hair and makeup prep time listening to BLACKPINK songs. (Relatable, honestly.)

Jisoo opened with a simple "Today is the day BLACKPINK turns ten. It's an important day for us. Thank you" — then had to address what everyone was thinking.

The group held a Meet & Greet at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Only 40 paid Weverse subscribers were invited. The announcement came just two days prior on August 6. Jisoo didn't shy away from it: "We originally wanted to meet many people. We knew it was an important day, but it seems we had a communication problem. I'm sorry." She wanted BLINKs who felt disappointed to know the group loves them and hopes they understand.

The National Museum of Korea had previously hosted a listening session for BLACKPINK's third mini-album DEADLINE, released in February. That album sold 1.77 million copies in its first week, breaking the girl group first-week sales record. The group also holds the distinction of being the first Asian female artist to simultaneously top the US Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart.
