CATS EYE's third mini album 'WILD' hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 170,000 units. They're the fourth female group to top the chart since 2020.
WILD debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, announced August 22 (local time). First chart-topper for CATS EYE since their 2024 U.S. debut.
The numbers: 145,000 physical sales (No. 1 on Top Album Sales), 24,500 streaming equivalent albums, 500 track equivalent albums. Total: 170,000 units. The album bumped Phoebe Bridgers' LOST WEEKEND and Stray Kids' THIS & THAT from the top. Stray Kids landed at No. 3 with 82,000 units.
CCATS EYE join BLACKPINK, NewJeans, and TWICE as the fourth female group to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since 2020. BLACKPINK's Born Pink topped the chart in 2022. NewJeans' Get Up did it in 2023. TWICE's With YOU-th reached No. 1 in 2024.
The title track Hootie Frutti leans into percussion-heavy pop with sharp drum work and clever wordplay. The music video matches that boldness. Production came from HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, Ed Sheeran, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. WILD also peaked at No. 2 on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100—their best UK showing yet.
CCATS EYE came together through The Debut: Dream Academy, a survival program co-produced by HYBE and Geffen Records. After their 2024 U.S. launch, they released Gnarly and Gabriela. In February 2025, the group earned a Grammy Best New Artist nomination.
