Choi Min-sik's 'Genius Mathematician' film leaves Netflix on Aug 21 — still on Watcha, TVING, Wavve

The 2022 film directed by Park Dong-hoon exits Netflix on August 21.
It hit theaters March 9, 2022. The 117-minute film (rated 12+) centers on 이학성 (Lee Hak-seong), a mathematician who defects from North Korea seeking academic freedom. Choi Min-sik plays him. Kim Dong-hwi (김동휘) appears as Han Ji-woo, a high school student.
The supporting cast: Park Hae-jun as 안기철. Park Byung-eun as the homeroom teacher. Jo Yoon-seo as 박보람. Tang Jun-sang (탕준상) as 태연. Kim Hee-jung as 보람's mother. Kang Mal-geum as 지우's mother.
Kim Dong-hwi won Best New Actor at both the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards and the 27th Chun Sa International Film Festival in 2022. The film took the New Wave Actress prize at the 58th Grand Bell Awards that year. It landed in the Korean Film Critics Association's Top 10 (42nd edition) and picked up the My Movie Award at the 21st Florence Korean Film Festival in 2023.
