Former SPICA member Yang Jiwon announces surprise marriage and pregnancy
Yang Jiwon is marrying musical actor Yang Junmo after an unexpected pregnancy—she'll become a mother at 40.
Former SPICA member and actress Yang Jiwon announced on Aug. 24 that she is marrying musical actor Yang Junmo. She's also pregnant.
The couple had originally planned to wed in early next year. In her SNS post, Yang Jiwon wrote: "we are so grateful to be blessed with new life." The ceremony is being moved up. She will turn 40 when the baby arrives.
One wrinkle: Yang Junmo divorced in 2023 and has a daughter with his ex-wife.
Comments poured in from across the industry. Jina—who once came close to debuting with Yang Jiwon in a group called Oh So Nyeo—wrote, "OMG!!!! Congrats baby girl 너무 너무 축하해!!!!!!! 너무 보고싶다." T-ara's Jiyeon left "울 언니 너무너무 축하해," and T-ara's Eunjung added "너무너무 축하해." Secret's Jeon Hyosung commented "언니 ㅜㅜㅜ 넘넘 축하해!!! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ."
Former SPICA bandmate Park Sihyeon kept it warm and practical: "Congratulations so much. May only happy things fill your future. See you next week." AOA's Choa wrote, "Unnie! I sincerely bless you! Be happy!" Kim Nahee, Song Haye, and others also left congratulatory comments.
