Hui (PENTAGON) drops self-written summer single 'BINGO' and lands music director role at 2026 MBC College Music Festival

PENTAGON's Hui dropped BINGO, a self-written and self-composed summer single, on July 28. It's his second original release of 2026, following 내일의 나에게 in April.

The track carries a refreshing summer concept. Hui handled both lyrics and composition himself. He co-wrote Wanna One's debut title track ENERGETIC, which hit No. 1 on charts. He scored another chart-topper with NEVER, the Produce 101 Season 2 concept evaluation song.

Off the music side, Hui (real name Lee Hoe-taek, 32) has been stacking credits across formats. He took his first musical lead in 광염소나타 in 2020, playing character J. Then came d'Artagnan in 삼총사 (2023) and Dimitru in 블러디 러브 (2024). On TV, he finished runner-up on music variety show 브레이커스 with an original song performance. He placed 13th on Mnet's 보이즈플래닛 in 2023, where he served as leader and main vocalist.

He's also a member of trot boy group 다섯장, which released 잘 될 거야 and 시선고정. He keeps fans close through 후이의 뮤직토크 on a live platform and the 조각모음 (Disk Defragmenter) YouTube playlist, where he shares unreleased originals.

The biggest upcoming item: Hui has been selected as music director—a newly created position—at the 2026 MBC 대학가요제. He'll provide one-on-one mentoring to contestants drawing on his producing background. His caption for the announcement? "Playing is what I like best."

Hui debuted with PENTAGON in 2016 via the group's first mini album PENTAGON. The group now comprises nine members: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yanan, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.
