Jang Dong-yoon, 34, announced on Instagram that he will marry actress Kim Seung-yoon, 29, in a quiet family ceremony this October.

On August 25, Jang Dong-yoon posted on Instagram: he's marrying actress Kim Seung-yoon in October, with both families present.
"There was a lot of thought and consideration before deciding on marriage," he wrote. The two had come to understand and care for each other over a long time together. He called her "a lover I have spent a long time with" but kept the start of their relationship private.
Their work history tells its own story. Kim Seung-yoon debuted in Joseon Romantic Comedy: Nokdu Flower (KBS 2TV, 2019)—the same drama that starred Jang Dong-yoon. She appeared in his short film directorial debut Be My Ears (2023). When he made his feature directorial debut with Nuruk, released in April, he cast her as the lead: Daseul, a young woman running a traditional makgeolli brewery with her father. The film explores family conflict, reconciliation, and the push-pull between tradition and modernity.
Before Nuruk opened, Jang Dong-yoon ran a crowdfunding campaign from November to December of last year. He raised 26.35 million won. Contributors who gave 100,000 won or more got a GV invitation and a handwritten autograph session with him. Fans essentially funded a film starring his now-fiancée—a detail that hasn't escaped notice online.
"You may be surprised by the sudden news," he wrote, "but I would appreciate it if you could watch over us with warm hearts."
