*Animal*, released August 4, debuts at No. 24 on the Hot 100—surpassing *PINKY UP*'s No. 28 peak from April.
KATSEYE's Animal opened at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated August 8), beating their own debut-week record of No. 28 set by PINKY UP in April.
The pop track channels instinct and wildness through an upbeat rhythm and dynamic beat. It landed at No. 10 on Billboard Global 200 and No. 12 on Billboard Global (excluding the US). On Spotify, the song hit No. 9 on Weekly Top Songs Global, No. 8 in the US, and peaked at No. 5 on Daily Top Songs Global as of August 2.
Five consecutive KATSEYE solo tracks have charted on the Hot 100: Gnarly, Gabriela, Internet Girl, PINKY UP, and Animal. Add their collaboration with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT, and that's six total Hot 100 entries. The members' vocal performances on Animal sound more mature compared to Internet Girl and PINKY UP, with each member's distinct vocal color getting more space.
KATSEYE debuted in the US in 2024 under HYBE's "Multi-home, multi-genre" strategy led by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk. The group won three awards at the 2026 American Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year, and earned two nominations at the 68th Grammy Awards.
Their third EP WILD drops August 14.
