Kim Do-yeon in talks to lead zombie drama opposite Do Kyung-soo
Weki Meki's Kim Do-yeon is under positive review for the female lead in 'We Are Zombies', a Naver webtoon adaptation starring Do Kyung-soo.
Kim Do-yeon's agency Fantazio confirmed on August 18 that she is "positively reviewing" the female lead role in We Are Zombies, opposite Do Kyung-soo, who plays protagonist Kim In-jong. Her character, Kim So-young, leads the survivors' hideout at Seoul Tower and is the first survivor Kim In-jong encounters a full year after settling there. Rough-mannered. Exceptional combat skills.
The drama adapts the Naver webtoon by Lee Myung-jae (이명재), which won the Grand Prize at the 2020 Naver Webtoon Contest. The story follows people trapped inside Seoul Tower, a mega shopping mall hit by a zombie outbreak, as they coexist with zombies inside the building.
Do-yeon's résumé has been filling up. Blue Dragon Film Awards Best New Actress at the 46th ceremony, a Cannes entry in May with Dora (dir. Jung Ju-ri), and a chart-and-broadcast #1 with the I.O.I 10th anniversary project.
