Moon Geun-young joins Our Ballad Season 2 panel — first actress in the role, first variety regular in 7 years

SBS's 우리들의 발라드2 (Our Ballad Season 2) completed its first round of recording on August 8 and 9, with 150 participants and an eight-member judging panel locked in ahead of an October premiere.

Moon Geun-young (문근영) leads the panel as the first actress to take the role and returns to fixed variety for the first time in seven years. She recently married actor Jung Pyung (정평), seven years her senior, in a private ceremony. New panelists include Joo Woo-jae (주우재), who calls himself a "ballad kid" steeped in Korean pop music history, and Roy Kim (로이킴), a former audition program winner whose releases have consistently topped music charts. Returning from Season 1 are Jeon Hyun-moo (전현무), Jung Jae-hyung (정재형), Cha Tae-hyun (차태현), Park Kyung-rim (박경림), and Jung Seung-hwan (정승환). The last is a runner-up from K팝스타4.

The 150 participants at the first recording averaged 17.9 years old—younger than Season 1's cast. Jung Ik-seung (정익승) planned the show. Ahn Jung-hyun (안정현) directed it. Mo Eun-seol (모은설) wrote it.

Season 1 set the bar high. It ranked first in the 2049 viewership demographic across all episodes. It topped Netflix Korea's variety "Series of Today" chart for every episode. It surpassed 100 million cumulative online views. It won the Best Work award in the Entertainment TV category at the 39th Korean Broadcasting Awards.
