OURBIRTHDAY drops MV for 'SQUEEZY' as JYP's first girl group in 4 years holds debut showcase

OURBIRTHDAY unveiled the music video for SQUEEZY at their debut showcase on August 19 at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The group performed HUNGRY live at the event.

SQUEEZY is a funk-based dance track built around a melody the group describes as impossible to forget after one listen. Their debut single Our Birthday contains four tracks: SQUEEZY, Our Birthday, HUNGRY (Side A), and HUNGRY (Side B). All four released at 6 PM that day.

OURBIRTHDAY is JYP Entertainment's first girl group in four years, following NMIXX. The seven members felt the weight of that expectation. Leader Jo Hye-jin addressed it directly at the showcase: "Being called the first girl group in 4 years since NMIXX, it would be a lie to say there's no burden. But we will work that much harder."

Jo Hye-jin won KBS2's The Ddan-Ddara before joining the group. On stepping into the leader role, she said the pressure is manageable. Years as school class president prepared her, and the members' trust helps. Before the full debut push, the group split into units of three and four for pre-debut activities.

(The group's signature genre is "WHIP-HOP" — a blend of free-spirited vibes and hip-hop performance, described as mixing the seven members' individual personalities like whipped cream.)

Their debut show, OURBIRTHDAY PARTY, aired simultaneously on Mnet and Mnet Plus at 7 PM on August 19.
