Taeyang shares 'COSMOS' rehearsal footage three months after 'QUINTESSENCE' comeback

BIGBANG's Taeyang (Dong Young-bae, 37) shared a behind-the-scenes rehearsal clip from a large concert venue. The caption: "훗" — a short Korean exclamation conveying ease — as he and his staff run through preparations for COSMOS.

Three months prior, his fourth solo regular album QUINTESSENCE arrived on May 18, 2026. His first solo full-length in nine years. The 10-track record leads with LIVE FAST DIE SLOW and includes BAD, WOULD YOU (feat. TARZZAN, WOOCHAN), MOVIE, OPEN UP (feat. The Kid LAROI), LOVE LIKE THIS, YES, NOW, G.O.A.T, and 4U. On release it hit the upper tier of the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart and topped multiple country charts, with strong responses from Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore. The LIVE FAST DIE SLOW music video reached #1 on YouTube's domestic Music Video Trending chart.

Taeyang — BIGBANG's main vocalist and main dancer — has been building toward this for years. He debuted as a solo artist in 2008 with mini-album Hot. His catalog includes Solar, RISE, WHITE NIGHT, and EP Down to Earth. The RISE title track 눈, 코, 입 swept Best Song and Song of the Year at year-end ceremonies in 2014. In 2023, VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS) charted on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, and UK Official Charts. He also served as main producer on audition program I-LAND2 : N/a in 2024.

BIGBANG currently operates as a trio: G-DRAGON, Taeyang, and Daesung. Taeyang married actress Min Hyo-rin on February 3, 2018. The couple have a son born in 2021.
