Dana vanished from social media in February 2022. On September 12, she posted a story at dawn—and woke to thousands of messages.

Dana, a member of K-pop group Cheonjisanghi (천상지희), broke nearly four years of public silence on September 12 with an unplanned social media story posted in the early hours. She had cut off all social media activity in February 2022 without explanation.
Waking up to an overwhelming response, she wrote: "I posted a story on impulse at dawn and went to sleep without thinking... there are so many messages that never end no matter how much I read... thank you."
In a second message, she addressed the people who had kept looking for her during her absence. "I am truly sorry and grateful to everyone who searched for me so hard while I wanted to be forgotten. It's a very confusing morning."
These posts are her first public communication since the disappearance, which had sparked widespread speculation—including that she had quietly retired.
Dana entered the entertainment industry in 2000 through the film Peace Era (평화의 시대). She worked as a solo singer from 2001, then re-debuted in 2005 as a member of Cheonjisanghi. Beyond music, she built a parallel stage career in musicals: The Three Musketeers, Robin Hood, Bonnie and Clyde.
In May 2026, Cheonjisanghi marked their 21st debut anniversary. Members Stephanie, Lina, and Sunday gathered for the occasion. Dana was not there. The group said at the time: "Dana was not personally ready. She said she is still embarrassed to stand before the media and the public, so members understand."
The September 12 post suggests she may be moving past that.
