Fifty Fifty lawsuit hits Day 1061: first ruling set for November 13

1,061 days to a verdict

Seoul Central District Court Division 61 has set November 13, 2025 for the first judgment in Attract's 13 billion won damages claim against former Fifty Fifty members Saena, Arang, and Sio. The suit was filed on December 18, 2023. That's 1,061 days ago.

Attract originally named 12 defendants. The three former members. Their parents. The Givers CEO Ahn Sung-il. Director Baek.

How the dispute started

June 2023. On June 28, the members announced through legal representatives that they had filed a request on June 19 to suspend their exclusive contract with Attract at Seoul Central District Court. "We will absolutely not return," they said.

About 60 days after the split, the members wrote in a handwritten letter: "Through this incident, we hope that wrongfully coerced practices in our relationship with the agency will be corrected."

Court decisions so far

Earlier rulings have split. Division 50 rejected the members' injunction request to suspend the exclusive contract. The court found it difficult to confirm breaches of accounting, health management, or care obligations. Attract's termination of business with The Givers did not itself constitute a contract breach, the division ruled.

Division 33 took a different view. It ordered The Givers and CEO Ahn Sung-il to jointly pay Attract 499.5 million won in damages — a partial win for the agency.

Attract is also pursuing a 20 billion won damages claim against Warner Music Korea and Clayton Jin (Jin Seung-young). That case runs concurrently with the 13 billion won suit.

(Attract noted in a statement that the three members "played a central role in establishing 'Cupid' as a global mega hit song" — a framing that reveals how much the agency believes it lost.)

Saena, Arang, and Sio have since moved to MASSIVE E&C, a label under IOK Company, and announced a resumption of activities.
