Hong Ja drops teaser for new single 'Eomni Ul Eomni', out September 21

First new song in about a year
Hong Ja shared a teaser for Eomni Ul Eomni (엄니 울엄니) through her official SNS. The single drops September 21 at 12 PM on online music platforms and marks her first release in about a year. The teaser includes a snippet of the track itself.
It follows Nae Dala (내 딸아) from last year. Hong Ja co-wrote the lyrics, drawing from her own life. The song centers on affection and longing for one's mother — familiar emotional terrain for a trot singer.
The voice behind 'Gomtang Voice'
Hong Ja debuted in 2012 with Wae Mal-eul Mot Hae / Ulboya (왜 말을 못해/ 울보야). Her profile widened after finishing third on TV Chosun's Miss Trot in 2019. She has since released Sarang Cham (사랑 참), Binari (비나리), and Sangsahwa (상사화). She also contributed the 11th OST track Kkuldanji (꿀단지) to the KBS2 weekend drama Sarangeul Cheobang Hae Deurimnida (사랑을 처방해 드립니다).
Fans call her Gomtang Voice (곰탕보이스) — a reference to the slow-brewed, deeply rich quality of her vocal delivery. Eomni Ul Eomni carries a deeper musical color and the trot emotion she has built her catalog on. (The mother-daughter theme running from Nae Dala to this one is hard to miss.)
