Kim Yong-bin returns with 'You Are the Only One' after 14-month break

14 months later, Kim Yong-bin is back

Kim Yong-bin released 당신뿐입니다 ("You Are the Only One") on September 21 across music streaming platforms. His first new material in 1 year and 2 months.

The gap follows 어제도 너였고 오늘도 너여서, the championship prize song he put out in July 2025 after winning the final on TV Chosun's Mr. Trot 3. That win established him as a trot singer with both technical credibility and mainstream pull.

What the song actually sounds like

Warm piano melody opens the track, layered over grand orchestral arrangement. The emotional arc builds progressively from there. Kim Yong-bin's vocals sit on top of that orchestral bed and deepen the song's lyrical atmosphere.

Thematically, 당신뿐입니다 is a devotion song—specifically about gratitude toward one person who quietly stayed by the singer's side through exhausting, demanding days. (The trot ballad lane he's working in doesn't get more on-brand than this.) The lyrics carry unexpressed thanks and apologies alongside an eternal promise to remain by that person's side until the end of the world.

What to watch

This is Kim Yong-bin's first self-standing release post-Mr. Trot 3. The championship track was a prize song tied to the show, so 당신뿐입니다 is the real test of where his solo discography goes from here. The piano-orchestra arrangement signals he's leaning into the emotional ballad side of trot rather than the uptempo competition-stage sound. Streaming numbers in the first 24 hours will tell the story.
