Lim Chang-jung on new semi-trot track 'Tat Tat Tat': recorded in three takes, choreography controversy addressed

Lim Chang-jung has a new semi-trot single out: 탓탓탓 ("Tat Tat Tat"). He recorded the whole thing in three takes.

On September 16, he appeared on SBS Power FM's 두시탈출 컬투쇼, joining segments 3 and 4 of the "중간만 가자" corner with singer 조째즈. The conversation covered how the track came together and what he's planning next.

Three takes, same as '소주 한 잔'

This quick studio pace isn't unusual for him. His signature hit 소주 한 잔 also wrapped in three takes, and 탓탓탓 matched that exactly. "These days the machines are good so it finishes quickly," he said.

The genre choice was intentional. "I got tired of doing only Lim Chang-jung-style ballads." 탓탓탓 sits somewhere between EDM and trot, built around lyrics that humorously tackle nagging and meddling. It's being promoted as a "형아표 팩폭 응원송" — an older-brother truth-bomb cheering song — with an upbeat chorus and clean vocals.

Choreography questions, answered

The dance drew some scrutiny. Lim Chang-jung introduced the choreographer as a world-renowned figure known as "카피춤" (Copy Dance), then addressed the similarity questions directly: "It may feel similar, but we didn't copy it."

He also joked on air that if 곽범 gets caught, he won't let it slide. The studio laughed.

Nationwide tour and a movie next year

Lim Chang-jung is preparing a nationwide tour concert built around a "도장깨기" (stamp-breaking competition) format. Regional trot kings will be selected at each stop, and the overall winner gets a duet album with him. He also dropped a surprise at the end of the broadcast: he'll meet audiences through a movie next year.

He closed the appearance with a live performance of 소주 한 잔.
