Musical Agatha opens December 9 at NOL Seokyung Square Skon 1 in Daehak-ro. It's the production's first run in three years.
Faction musical means the show blends authorial imagination with documented fact. The real disappearance of British mystery writer Agatha Christie in 1926 is its anchor: immediately after publishing The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Christie vanished without a trace. Eleven days later she turned up in a Yorkshire hotel with amnesia. She never said a word about those 11 days. Not once. For the rest of her life.
Where the story starts — and where it goes
The musical doesn't open at the moment of disappearance. It starts at a 1953 party celebrating Christie's 60th novel, then rewinds to December 1926, the day she went missing. That reversal—starting with the celebrated author and moving backward to the unresolved mystery—is what drives the whole production.
What's new this season
This run includes a complete stage redesign with expanded lighting and LED video art meant to deepen visual immersion. (Three years gives you time to rebuild a set entirely, and the production is using it.) No casting announcements came with the initial reveal.
