Woo Hye-mi reached TOP 4 on Voice Korea in 2012 and debuted with 'Motnanyi Inhyeong' in 2015. She died on September 21, 2019. She was 31.

September 21, 2026 marks seven years since singer Woo Hye-mi (우혜미) was found dead at her residence in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. She was 31.
Woo was born in 1988. In 2012, she reached TOP 4 on Mnet's Voice Korea Season 1. Three years later, she made her official music industry debut with her first mini album 못난이 인형 (Motnanyi Inhyeong). She featured on tracks by hip-hop duo Leessang and built a career across multiple areas of music.
One month before she died, Woo released her first EP. She wrote, composed, and arranged it entirely herself. That record stands as her final statement.
Her agency at the time, Downtown Entertainment (다운타운이엔엠), confirmed the news: "We are heartbroken to deliver this sad news. Per the wishes of her family, the funeral will be held quietly."
Singer Son Seung-yeon (손승연) appeared on Voice Korea alongside Woo. After hearing the news, she paid tribute:
"She was the most unique artist I know among singers, and a born musician who excelled at writing and composing lyrics."
Son added: "Now, rest comfortably doing everything you wanted to do."
Seven years is a long time. She was only getting started.
