Suwon District Court ruled against trot singer Suk Haeng on Sept. 17 in an adultery damages case. The 47-year-old has a solo concert scheduled for Sept. 30.

Trot singer Suk Haeng (47, real name Han Suk Haeng) lost a first-instance civil lawsuit on September 17, 2026. Suwon District Court's Seongnam Branch Civil Division 7 ruled partially in favor of the plaintiff—the wife of the man at the center of the adultery allegations. The court found Suk Haeng bore legal responsibility for the marriage breakdown and ordered her to pay damages.
The case started in December 2025, when a woman identified as A appeared on JTBC's Sageunbanjang (Incident Captain) alleging her husband had left home in February that year to have an affair with Suk Haeng and was living with her. CCTV footage broadcast showed a woman presumed to be Suk Haeng and the husband embracing and kissing. Suk Haeng withdrew from MBN's Hyeonryeok Gawang 3—a competition program where she'd been favored to win—and suspended all broadcast work.
After the complaint was filed in September 2025, Suk Haeng went months without legal representation and made no response. The court prepared to issue a ruling without oral arguments. She hired a lawyer in January 2026, just before that date was set, which canceled the original hearing. Three oral arguments followed before the September 17 ruling.
Suk Haeng's defense: "We began dating believing that the other party's marriage had already broken down. He assured us that he had already agreed to divorce with his wife and that property division and damages settlement were completed." The court rejected this.
In a handwritten letter released earlier, Suk Haeng wrote: "All facts will be clarified through legal procedures in the future." The court sided with the plaintiff anyway.
Nine months into her hiatus, Suk Haeng has booked a solo concert for September 30 at Arte Seoul Muse Hall in Mokdong, Seoul—less than two weeks after the ruling. The show is titled Fans-gwa Hamkke Haneun Teukbyeolhan Sigan, Dasi Noraero (A Special Time with Fans, Singing Again).
Ahead of the concert, she said: "I will greet you with song rather than words. I will return to the stage with the heart I had when I first started singing."
Whether the court verdict changes the audience calculus for that September 30 date is what her fanbase is now sitting with.
