Epic High and Davichi are releasing Mise en scène (미장센) today, October 13. Their first collaboration since either group debuted.
Epic High built a hip-hop catalog starting in 2003. Davichi came up in 2008 on ballads and genre-spanning work. The pairing reads unexpected on paper. The track itself pairs Davichi's emotional vocals with Epic High's sharp rapping—what the groups call a distinct musical synergy.
Who made it
Kim Han-joo (김한주) of Silica Gel produced it. So did Epic High's Tablo and Mitra Jin (미쓰라 진). Three writers. Two groups. One track.
A behind-the-scenes video dropped December 12 on Kang Min-kyung's personal YouTube channel 걍밍경. Both teams in the studio, trading opinions, recording, debating, encouraging each other through the process. (The kind of footage that shows how much negotiation hides inside a collab that sounds effortless.)
