Kakao Entertainment partners with Warner Music's Atlantic Music Group to build K-pop super IP
Kakao Entertainment and Atlantic Music Group—home to Atlantic Records, 10K Projects, and 300 Entertainment—will design global strategies for K-pop artists from day one.

Kakao Entertainment announced a strategic partnership with Atlantic Music Group (AMG), a core music group under Warner Music Group, on October 7.
What each side brings to the table
Kakao Entertainment's end-to-end K-pop infrastructure spans IP planning, management, distribution, marketing, and fandom engagement. AMG brings global A&R, marketing, and promotion. Both companies are calling the result a new business model for "K-pop super IP."
Kakao Entertainment's music labels include Starship Entertainment, IST Entertainment, Antenna, and EDAM Entertainment. The company also holds the second-largest stake in SM Entertainment (Kakao owns the largest share).
AMG operates Atlantic Records, 10K Projects, and 300 Entertainment. Atlantic Records has worked with Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Charli XCX, Charlie Puth, Cardi B, and Miley Cyrus. Rosé and Bruno Mars' duet APT. came out of Atlantic Records. Within AMG, 300 Entertainment specializes in R&B and hip-hop, while 10K Projects breaks new artists.
How the collaboration will actually work
Instead of simply introducing K-pop acts to overseas markets, the two companies will jointly design global strategies from the start. They'll factor in each IP's musical identity, career phase, and competitiveness globally.
Collaboration begins at the song level: arrangements and songcamps. That feeds into music distribution and digital marketing across social platforms and streaming services, then extends to local radio and TV appearances and direct fan communication.
A Kakao Entertainment official said: "This partnership is meaningful in that it brings together the capabilities of both companies to discover the potential of K-pop artists and IPs and expand in the global market."
AMG described Kakao Entertainment as having "outstanding achievements in artist discovery and expanding fan touchpoints." Combining Kakao Entertainment's K-pop expertise with AMG's global network and artist development capabilities, the company said, would create meaningful opportunities for artist growth and resonance with global fans. (The APT. duet is the clearest proof of concept that an Atlantic Records–K-pop collab can move numbers worldwide.)
