Kang Hye-won shares playful burger joint photo, teases 2027 Tving drama

French fries, glasses, and one word

Kang Hye-won, 26, uploaded a photo to Instagram on October 14 from a fast food restaurant. She's at a table with drinks and desserts, wearing glasses, fingers threaded through french fries in a deliberately goofy pose. The caption: 냥 — Korean for "meow." Nothing else.

It's low-key by design. That fits someone building a dual career in music and acting since her IZ*ONE debut in 2018.

From IZ*ONE to a Korean-Japanese co-production

On the music side, Kang released the special album W in winter 2021. She followed with the digital single Like a Diamond in 2022. Her acting credits kept pace: the web drama When I Fell for a Delinquent (2021, as Jin Se-hee). Then Youth Blossom (2022, as Yoon Bo-mi). The Coupang Play drama The Days of Youth (2023) gave her the lead role of Kang Sun-hwa.

In 2026 she starred in Love at First Bite, a TV TOKYO and Netflix simultaneous-release Korean-Japanese co-production, playing Park Rin — a graduate student who travels to Japan to study. She also appeared in the Tving original drama Spirit Fingers! as An Ye-rim.

Variety credits include My Little Television V2 (2019) and a regular slot on We Became Family from 2021 to 2022.

Kang is set to appear in High School Queen, a Tving original scheduled for 2027, alongside Kim Se-jeong, Bae Hyun-seong, and Jo Han-gyeol.
