K-pop Demon Hunters' Lee Jae marries producer Sam Kim in Seoul, a month ahead of original California plan
Singer-songwriter Lee Jae and producer Sam Kim married Oct. 17 at Stage28 in Seoul, moving up their California ceremony to accommodate awards commitments for Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters.

The wedding that moved continents
Lee Jae (35, full name Kim Eun-jae) and producer-composer Sam Kim married on October 17 at Stage28 in Godeok-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. They were supposed to get married in California in November.
The Netflix animated film K-pop Demon Hunters changed that. Lee Jae voices the lead character Rumi, and the role kept pulling her into awards-season and promotional events. Wedding prep kept getting pushed back. Eventually the couple decided to just move the whole thing to Korea.
A venue with family history
Stage28 wasn't picked at random. The space sits on what used to be the home of veteran actor Shin Young-gyun—Lee Jae's maternal grandfather. The Shin Young-gyun Arts and Culture Foundation runs it now. Lee Jae's older brother got married there too. (Family real estate doing overtime.)
Lee Jae's mother is Shin Hye-jin, Vice President of Seyoung Enterprise and daughter of Shin Young-gyun.
Nine years from session to wedding
Lee Jae and Sam Kim met at a music session in May 2017. Sam Kim handles production, composition, and computer programming.
Lee Jae trained at SM Entertainment and has writing credits on tracks for TWICE, Red Velvet, and aespa. K-pop Demon Hunters expanded her profile significantly. Her performance as Rumi drew wide attention and locked her into the awards circuit that ultimately reshuffled the wedding timeline.
