Stray Kids become the only act in Billboard 200 history to debut 8 consecutive albums at No. 1
From *ODDINARY* in 2022 through *DO IT* in 2025, every Stray Kids chart entry has landed at number 1. No Western act has matched that in 70 years.

No one has done this in 70 years
Stray Kids now hold a record that no artist in the 70-year history of the Billboard 200 has managed: eight consecutive albums debuting at number 1, starting from the very first release to chart. That run covers ODDINARY (March 2022), MAXIDENT (2022), ★★★★★ (5-STAR) (2023), 樂-STAR (2023), ATE (2024), 合 (HOP) (2024), KARMA (2025), and DO IT (2025). The Billboard 200 has existed since 1956, and no other act — Western or otherwise — has pulled off eight straight debut-week number ones from their first charting album onward.
The group also holds the title of most number 1 albums on the Billboard 200 among all groups that debuted worldwide after 2000.
How ODDINARY opened the door
The streak began in March 2022 when ODDINARY debuted at number 1, making Stray Kids the third Korean act to top the Billboard 200, after BTS and SuperM. That same period brought a structural shift: in early 2022, JYP Entertainment expanded its strategic label partnership with Republic Records, a Universal Music Group subsidiary. The deal gave Stray Kids exclusive physical album distribution through major North American retailers including Target and Walmart, plus local radio and media promotion infrastructure — the kind of on-the-ground presence that drives first-week sales.
The creative engine behind the numbers
Stray Kids is an 8-member group formed through an Mnet survival program in 2017. Leader Bang Chan heads the in-group producing unit 3RACHA, alongside members Changbin and Han. Since their debut album, 3RACHA has directly led songwriting, composition, and arrangement on every track the group has released — a level of creative control that is central to how the group and their fandom, STAY, have built their identity.
(Eight straight number 1 debuts. The chart is 70 years old. The math is simple.)
