TWICE's Jihyo leaves JYP after 21 years, launches solo agency EMITHAUS — stays in group
TWICE leader Jihyo left JYP Entertainment on Oct. 21 after 21 years, launching solo agency EMITHAUS. She's staying in the group.

Jihyo out of JYP, into her own house
TWICE leader Jihyo has left JYP Entertainment after 21 years. She founded a one-person agency called EMITHAUS and announced it herself—a handwritten letter posted to SNS at noon on October 21.
She stays in TWICE. Individual work moves to EMITHAUS. Group activities and her relationships with the members don't change.
The name pulls from the English verb emit—to radiate. It signals an expansion of artists' individuality and creative possibilities through music and various content.
What she said
Jihyo addressed the move directly in her letter:
"My independence is less a conclusion about the time that has passed, and more a choice about how I will live going forward."
She also wrote that "this choice does not mean a farewell from the team I have been with for a long time," and said she wants to "freely unfold even the possibilities of myself that I have not yet discovered" at the new company.
The timeline
Jihyo debuted with TWICE in 2015. The group released CHEER UP, TT, and FANCY. She put out her first solo album, ZONE, in 2023. TWICE marked their 11th debut anniversary on October 20—one day before this announcement.
