Bbangkomi's Bakery pop-up in Gangnam: a 10-day healing stop

Aiko Tanaka·10/21/2026, 8:41:06 AM

If you're in Seoul through October 25 and need a dose of comfort, the Bbangkomi pop-up at Shinsegae Gangnam (B1, Sweet Park) is exactly the kind of low-pressure, high-warmth detour that makes a trip memorable. The concept is "a bakery without bread"—the space is styled like a working bakery, with ovens, rolling pins, and oven mitts surrounding plush bear figurines in various stages of "baking" (dough, proofing, golden-brown). It's designed to feel cozy and a little silly, which tracks.

What makes it worth the trip: the merch is genuinely thoughtful. Postcards and posters scattered throughout carry affirmations in Korean ("It's okay, I'm cute anyway," "We need to enjoy this world")—the kind of thing that hits different when you're traveling alone. The store stocks Bbangkomi goods (keychains, stationery, plushes), and if you spend 10,000 won or more, you unlock two events: a timer challenge where you try to hit exactly 10.00 seconds (9.90–9.99 seconds wins a postcard; 10.00 wins a Bbangkomi keyring; 10.01–10.10 wins a postcard), and an SNS raffle for random keychains if you post from the store.

Running window: October 15–25, 2026. Hours are 10:30 AM–8 PM Monday–Thursday, 10:30 AM–8:30 PM Friday–Sunday. Walk-in only—no reservation needed. It's a short pop-up (11 days total), so if Bbangkomi is on your radar, don't sleep on the dates.
