Panda World birthday pop-up: Yeouido's limited merch rush through July 3

If you've got Panda World (Everland's panda family) on your Seoul itinerary, the Bao Family pop-up at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido is a must-hit before July 3. The whole thing exists to celebrate the twin pandas Lui Bao and Hui Bao turning one on July 7 — and the merch energy is genuinely unhinged. This isn't a quiet photo zone; it's a full sensory experience designed to drain your wallet in the best way.

The pop-up is on the 5th floor of The Hyundai Seoul, a 10-minute walk from Yeouido Station (Exit 5). Entry requires a Naver Reservations pre-booking — and yes, slots sold out instantly. If you missed the initial drop, cancellations do surface occasionally, so keep refreshing. Alternatively, you can queue on-site for walk-in spots, though expect a wait. You'll need your ID at entry; companions don't need theirs.

What you actually get inside: the space is styled like a mustard-yellow flower field where Poo and the twins are grinning at you from the moment you enter. The blogger describes it as genuinely charming — not just a merch dump. Plush toys of the family are on display, with the Poo employee-ID figurine standing out for quality. Scattered throughout are handwritten-style diary entries and doodles supposedly from Lui Bao and Hui Bao themselves, which hit different when you've watched them grow up in real time.

The merch lineup is obsessive-inducing. Twin panda-specific items dominate: birthday-cake clocks, fluffy pouches, light-key rings, acrylic stands made from real family photos. There are metal badges (the rapeseed-flower Poo and night-sky Poo designs got singled out as especially pretty), keychains, umbrellas, camping gear stickers, and collaboration leather goods with Smith & Wesson that sold out fast. A Lamy pen lets you swap out Poo and rapeseed-flower designs, and later attach it to a digital stylus. Stickers, postcards, jigsaw puzzles, and mini fans were flying off shelves. The blogger notes there's genuinely no ugly item in the lineup — color palette and design are consistent across everything.

There's also a "lucky capsule" gacha game outside the main shop: buy a ticket (8,000 won) at the checkout, step outside, and pull a random Ai Bao, Ru Bao, Poo, or Lui Hui figurine. Some include signatures from the pandas' handlers (Kang Bao and Song Bao), and some have prize tickets attached. People were camping on-site to match ticket colors with duplicate figurines to swap for new ones — the energy is real.

Pre-order items (music box, Bluetooth speaker, monitor air freshener) require you to pay at checkout first, then fill in shipping details at a separate counter — don't zone out and miss that step. A Panda World brick set and other high-end collabs are also on offer. The blogger walked in with a budget and walked out with a full basket (they hand you a large shopping basket at entry, which is either genius or cruel depending on your perspective).

Practical note: this is the third wave of the pop-up. Merch from waves 1 and 2 are already in circulation, so cancellation tickets do happen, but don't count on them. Most items will later appear at the Everland gift shop with a 20–30% discount (if you have a Panda Card), so if you miss out, you're not entirely locked out — just plan accordingly. The pop-up runs through July 3, and a new batch of merch is expected for waves 2 and 3, so timing matters if you're hunting for specific drops.
