Studio Ghibli pop-up at Jeju Airport: free goods, limited merch, open through September

Sofia Reyes·8/13/2026, 3:03:24 PM

If you're flying into Jeju, the Studio Ghibli x Dotorinumop pop-up store at the airport is the first stop worth making before you even leave the terminal. Located at Jeju International Airport's arrival level, just outside Gate 3, it's positioned perfectly in your natural exit flow — grab luggage, head toward the shuttle bus, and you're already there. The store runs from July 9 through September 27, 2026, with hours 8 AM to 8 PM daily, so whether you're arriving mid-morning or catching an evening flight out, timing works.

The experience itself is designed around Ghibli nostalgia meets Jeju exclusivity. The entrance has a main photo zone that's the immediate draw — expect a small crowd, especially weekends. Inside, you'll find signature merchandise that exists nowhere else: Totoro in a mandarin-orange hat (a Jeju-specific detail), keychains, coin purses, stationery, clothing, and bags across price points. The cat bus figurine is a standout that sells quickly. Beyond shopping, there's a preview of the larger Studio Ghibli exhibition happening at Songdang Fairytale Village in the same region — the pop-up functions as both a retail space and a teaser for the broader Ghibli experience on the island.

The free-goods structure is straightforward: spend 10,000 won or more and you get a Jeju-exclusive art postcard; spend 50,000 won or more and you get a Jeju-exclusive artwork luggage tag. Both are limited quantities and likely to sell out early in the day, especially on weekends. No reservation needed — it's walk-in only, which makes it ideal for that spontaneous first-hour arrival moment. Just know that the merch itself (the figurines, keychains, apparel) can deplete if you're arriving late in the day, so if something catches your eye, grab it immediately.

If you're a Ghibli devotee planning a Jeju trip, this pop-up is worth timing your flight around — not just for the goods, but because it sets the tone for exploring the Songdang Fairytale Village cluster nearby (which also includes Dotorinumop and Coricocafe, both Ghibli-adjacent spaces). The exhibition at Songdang costs 22,000 won for general admission (20,000 for middle/high school, 17,000 for elementary; Jeju residents get 20% off), runs 9 AM to 7 PM, and parking is free. The pop-up is free to browse, so you're not locked into a purchase — but the limited goods and the energy of arriving somewhere new make it feel less like a transaction and more like a first-moment memory.

Weekends see crowds, so if you can swing a weekday arrival, do. Otherwise, aim for the first hour after landing or the hour before your evening flight. The pop-up closes September 27, so plan accordingly if you're visiting late summer or early fall.
