81 women applied. 10 will compete. 5.1 million won awaits the winner at Ulsan's annual vocal competition.

The 6th Ulsan Keun-Aeggi Song Festival opens June 20 at 6:30 PM on the special stage at Taehwaggang Sports Park, running alongside the 2026 Taehwaggang Madu Festival.
The Ulsan Popular Music Association (chairman Kim Byeong-geuk) hosts the event with Ulsan Jung-gu as sponsor. Ten finalists will take the stage that night. They were selected through video screening and on-site preliminary rounds from 81 applicants who entered between April 25 and May 31. All applicants were women aged 60 or younger from across the country.
The Grand Prize is worth 3,000,000 won. Gold Prize pays 1,000,000 won. Silver Prize, 500,000 won. Bronze and Encouragement prizes each award 300,000 won. Every winner also gets a trophy. Total purse: 5,100,000 won.
Since 2021, the festival has run annually. The association credits it with introducing new female musicians to the industry. The stated purpose is to raise the profile of 'Ulsan Keun-Aeggi', the representative character of Ulsan Jung-gu, while building a wider base for live performance culture in the region.
"I hope you will experience an exciting stage that will add to the heat of the Taehwaggang Madu Festival," Kim Byeong-geuk said. The association would "continue to work hard to revitalize local popular music and expand the foundation of performance culture."
