BOYNEXTDOOR drop debut full-length 'HOME' three years in, eye 'national idol' status

BOYNEXTDOOR released their first full-length album, HOME, on June 8, 2026 — three years after their debut. Every member contributed to the songwriting across the record.

The title track is VIRAL. Sungho was clear about what he wanted: "I hope our music continues to flow on social media and is endlessly discussed by the public and fans in a good way."

The album title wasn't random. Unhak explained they picked 'HOME' over 'HOUSE' because it felt like a sanctuary for the heart. The record maps the past three years along a single timeline like rooms in one house.

One track stands out: I Wonder, Always, a fan song where each member contributed 16 bars. Sungho said it holds stories that only ONEDOOR (the fandom) and the members would recognize. Episodes the general public wouldn't know about were kept exclusive to the CD version.

Then the ankle sprain hit. Leader Myungjae-hyun injured a ligament in the lead-up to release. He said he would focus on recovery and perform on stage "no matter what." Lee Han noted that Myungjae-hyun's drive to get on stage is so strong the other members have been trying to hold him back. He's currently focused on treatment.

Three years in, the group wants to shed a label. The 'idol made by Zico' tag has stuck since debut. Members said more people now recognize them through their music and performances than through the Zico connection. They want to be seen as a team that can pull off both playful, boyish energy and toned-down maturity. The goal for this era: grow from 'idol created by Zico' into a 'national idol.'
