Choi Yu-jung returns with 'Perfect Target,' her first solo album in 4 years

Choi Yu-jung released her second solo single album Perfect Target on June 30. Her last solo project was the 2022 debut single Sunflower, roughly four years prior.

This 2-track release marks the first time she has written and composed every song on an album since her debut. She also contributed directly to choreography creation for the title track.

The title track '비장의 무기 (Perfect Target)' runs on a retro sound. A kitschy melody pairs with positive energy to highlight her bright, witty charm. The B-side 'Still Cute?' leans into Shibuya-kei sensibility over an upbeat house rhythm, with lyrics that explore the gap between how the public sees her and how she actually sees herself. Two very different moods on a two-track album.

A music video dropped alongside the audio release. She is scheduled to perform on music broadcast programs in the coming weeks.

The solo comeback follows a busy stretch. I.O.I, the project group formed through Mnet's Produce 101 Season 1, reunited for their 10th anniversary and released a new album in May — their first in approximately nine years.
