Dok2 opens up about how he and Lee Hi got together, dating since late 2022

Dok2 went on episode 19 of 홈륨쇼 on Dumpounded's YouTube channel on June 17. He laid out exactly how his relationship with Lee Hi developed—from a mutual-acquaintance introduction around 2014–2015 to a romance that Dispatch says has now lasted roughly five years.

The two first crossed paths properly through MBC's Infinite Challenge in 2016. Lee Hi later featured on his track On & On, and they grew closer by working on each other's albums. "We became closer by participating in each other's albums," Dok2 said on the show.

In 2017–2018, while Lee Hi was still at YG Entertainment, he tried to bring her over to his label Illionaire Records. Health reasons killed the plan.

After the pandemic, they reunited on stage at a London concert. Dating started in late 2022. Dok2, now 36 (born 1990), and Lee Hi, 29 (born 1996), confirmed the relationship themselves. No tabloid circuit. Dok2 made a point of it: "Usually [news] is known through paparazzi or tabloids like TMZ."

"Now, unlike puppy love from childhood, we had to make an important decision," he added, explaining why they chose to go public on their own terms.
