SUPER JUNIOR's Donghae sustained a back injury on day two of his first solo concert in Hong Kong and is returning to Korea for treatment before continuing the ALIVE tour.

SUPER JUNIOR's Donghae posted a handwritten letter on June 29 after sustaining a back injury during the second day of his first solo concert in Hong Kong.
The 39-year-old leads vocals and dance in SUPER JUNIOR while also handling rap duties. He's currently touring Asia with 2026 DONGHAE 1st SOLO CONCERT TOUR "ALIVE", which spans Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, Kaohsiung, and Macau. He said he will return to Korea immediately to begin treatment.
"I promise I'll come back healthy," he wrote. "And I promise I'll keep making you smile for the rest of my life."
Once treatment is complete, he plans to resume the tour in Japan, Taiwan, and Macau with band live sets and arranged stage versions of his material.
Donghae debuted with SUPER JUNIOR in 2005 on Super Junior05. He later launched his solo career with the digital single HARMONY. His follow-up single California Love came in two versions: one featuring Xeno and one solo. (The Xeno collab was the one that got people talking.)
Outside music, he has appeared in dramas including 괜찮아, 아빠딸 as Choi Wook-ki, 판다양과 고슴도치 as Go Seung-ji, 신의 퀴즈4 as Han Si-woo, 오! 영심이 as Wang Kyung-tae, and 남과 여 as Jung Hyun-sung. He has also worked as MC on 아이돌 챌린지: 어나더 클라스 and 댸니쇼, served as a special judge on 킹덤: 레전더리 워, and co-hosts the YouTube program 동해물과 백두은혁 with Eun-hyuk.
Before his 2005 debut, Donghae won the grand prize and first place in the appearance category at the 3rd SM Youth Best Selection Contest. He currently serves as a UNICEF Envoy, a promotional ambassador for the Korean Leukemia Children's Foundation, and an honorary ambassador for the Indonesian Pediatric Cancer Foundation YOAI.
