EJAE will perform the FIFA 2026 World Cup theme at Mexico City's opening ceremony. The 35-year-old singer-songwriter rose to fame voicing the Netflix anime 'K-pop Demon Hunters'.

FIFA released the 2026 World Cup official theme song DNA on June 11 across YouTube and social media. The track brings together EJAE (이재), Andrea Bocelli, David Guetta, and Megan Thee Stallion—classical, electronic, hip-hop, and K-pop vocals layered onto one record.
EJAE and Bocelli will perform DNA live for the first time at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City around 11 a.m. on June 11 local time, just before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. She's also performing at Mexico City Stadium on June 12 (Korea time) ahead of that same fixture.
EJAE wrote the Korean-language lyrics herself. Late in the song, she sings "또 넘어져도 나 다시 일어나"—"Even if I fall again, I will rise again."
"It is an honor to stand on stage representing Korea," EJAE said. "I cannot forget the emotion I felt during the street cheering at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup."
She started as a K-pop idol trainee before pivoting to songwriting. Her breakthrough came through the Netflix anime K-pop Demon Hunters, where she voiced protagonist Rumi and contributed to the OST. Golden, one of her tracks from the soundtrack, topped both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart for an extended period. This year, K-pop Demon Hunters swept the American Academy and Grammy Awards.
The 2026 tournament marks the first World Cup co-hosted across three countries: Mexico, the United States, and Canada. BLACKPINK's Lisa will perform at the US opening ceremony. BTS is scheduled for the final's halftime show.
