Gong Hyo-jin plays a working-mom assassin in MBC's new webtoon adaptation, joined by Sung Dong-il, Lee Sang-yi, and Jung Joon-won.

MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 유부녀 킬러 (Married Woman Killer) premieres July 31 at 9:50 PM, the network confirmed after releasing footage from a script reading held June 18.
The show adapts a Kakao Webtoon that pulled in 180 million views. Its premise: a woman juggling motherhood and a corporate job by day, legendary sniper by night. Writer Kim Eun-hee (Ghost Doctor, Live Up to Your Name) penned the script. Director Yoon Jong-ho (Lovely Runner, Times) is helming it as an action-comedy-family hybrid.
Gong Hyo-jin plays Yoo Bo-na, a Sales Team 3 manager at Durumi Electronics who operates as "Kingfisher" after hours. Sung Dong-il is her team leader Kim Bong-pal, a specialist in staging accidental deaths. Jung Joon-won plays her husband Kwon Tae-sung, an investigative reporter. Lee Sang-yi takes on Lee Dong-jin, a police lieutenant in the Violent Crimes Unit 2 of the Southern Police Station. Moo Jin-sung, Lee Eun-saem, and Choi Woo-sung round out the ensemble as Ki Young-do, Kwon Se-ah, and Beom Sung-hoon.
At the script reading, Gong Hyo-jin said: "I will do my best so that this drama can comfort people and make them forget the worries of the day." Lee Sang-yi zeroed in on what matters: "Please look forward to the relationship between Dong-jin and Kingfisher."
Jung Joon-won promised to "shoot joyfully" and asked for fans' interest and anticipation. A working mom moonlighting as a sniper with a cop closing in—the setup writes itself.
