Jina announced on Instagram she's returning with a remade version of her hit '꺼져 줄게 잘 살아'—roughly a decade after a 2015 sex trafficking case derailed her career.

Singer Jina announced via Instagram that she is coming back with a remade version of her hit track 꺼져 줄게 잘 살아, ending a roughly ten-year absence from the industry.
Her activities stopped in 2015 after allegations emerged that she had engaged in overseas sex trafficking with two men in the United States—one Korean-American businessman and one domestic businessman. She appeared before prosecutors on March 15, 2016. During questioning she admitted to the sexual acts but first described the men as romantic partners, then changed her account to say she had been deceived. A close acquaintance had provided her with financial support and told her: "If you're having difficulties, you don't need to repay. Instead, just meet with my acquaintance who is my fan once."
The investigation ended with a 2 million won fine, confirming that sex trafficking had taken place. Jina's response was characteristically ambiguous: "I did engage in sexual acts, but I didn't know that was sex trafficking. I can't accept that it was sex trafficking, but since Korean law is that way, I acknowledge it."
She debuted as a solo artist in 2010 at Cube Entertainment, which was founded by Hong Seung-sung after he left his post as representative director of JYP Entertainment. Hong was the one who originally discovered her. Jina was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Korean parents. Her unfamiliarity with Korean idioms was noted at the time—she once heard 8등신 and understood it as 8배 바보, "eight times stupid."
No release date for the remake has been announced.
