Kamenashi Kazuya of KAT-TUN marries actress Tanaka Minami, announces pregnancy

Kamenashi Kazuya announced on June 29 that he is marrying actress Tanaka Minami and that the couple is expecting a child. The news came through a handwritten letter posted to his fan club website.

"I am getting married to Tanaka Minami," he wrote. "A new life has also come to us together."

Tanaka Minami shared her own handwritten letter on her official site the same day. "Though we are inexperienced, as actors, as parents, and as human beings, we will strive further," she wrote. "We will approach all activities with sincerity, so we ask for your continued encouragement."

The two met in 2023 during a fashion magazine photoshoot. They were cast together in the 2024 TV drama Destiny, where they grew closer and began dating. They married after roughly two years together.

Kamenashi debuted with KAT-TUN in 2006 and built a parallel acting career. He wrapped up KAT-TUN activities in March 2025 and has since worked independently—currently playing protagonist Sakurazaki Jun in the Japanese adaptation of Stove League. Tanaka left TBS, where she had worked as an announcer, in September 2014 and has been acting in variety shows and dramas since.

Their agency said the couple "will live with responsibility as parents and as human beings" and asked fans to "warmly support their future activities."
