Drama-born group Miakak Boys perform 'My Flavor' on M Countdown

Miakak Boys (미각보이즈) took the M Countdown stage on June 11 for My Flavor, their debut track. The five-member group consists entirely of actors from the Tving original drama 취사병 전설이 되다 (The Legend of the Mess Sergeant): Kang Ha-gyeong (강하경), Lee Sang-jun (이상준), Lim Ji-ho (임지호), Kang Jun-gyu (강준규), and Kim Moon-gi (김문기).

Inside the drama, each carries a taste-themed character name. Kang Ha-gyeong is '쓴맛관철' (bitter), Lee Sang-jun is '매운맛승우' (spicy), Lim Ji-ho is '단맛문익' (sweet), Kang Jun-gyu is '신맛상욱' (sour), and Kim Moon-gi is '짠맛지용' (salty). They first appeared in episode 6, which aired May 26, as an imaginary idol group imagined by company commander Hwang Seok-ho, played by Lee Sang-i (이상이). He also joined them on the M Countdown stage.

My Flavor is a dance track built around 오미 (五味)—the five tastes humans perceive—delivered in an upbeat, energetic style. The moment the episode aired, fans demanded an official release. The song dropped on various music platforms on May 27.

The Legend of the Mess Sergeant is a 12-episode military cooking fantasy drama following Private First Class Kang Sung-jae's path to becoming a legendary mess sergeant. It's based on a web novel by Je-i Robin (제이로빈), directed by Jo Nam-hyeong (조남형), and written by Choi Ryong (최룡). The show airs on tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM and streams on Tving, with reruns on tvN and tvN DRAMA. Episodes 11 and the finale air next week. Lee Sang-jun debuted in 2021 via tvN Drama Stage Season 4's Love Spoiler and has since appeared in Squid Game Season 2, among other projects.
