Ryu Je-yoon's complete ligament rupture on June 24 forced a last-minute cast overhaul, turning the male-female two-hander into an all-female production.

Dawn Touch was cancelled minutes before curtain on June 25. Now the show is back — with a different cast configuration.
Ryu Je-yoon (류제윤) plays Moon Jung-won in the two-person musical at National Jeongdong Theatre. She injured her leg during a landing on June 24. The next day brought a diagnosis: complete ligament rupture. That evening's performance was pulled just before opening.
The production team pivoted fast. Han Jae-a (한재아), who had been sharing the role of Yang Ji-an with Park Gyu-ri (박규리), moved over to take Moon Jung-won. Park Gyu-ri now carries Yang Ji-an alone. What began as a male-female two-hander has been rebuilt as an all-female two-person play.
"Thanks to the encouragement of our waiting audience members, we found a way to continue the performance," the National Jeongdong Theatre and production team said in a statement, also apologizing for "causing great concern" to ticket holders.
The team added: "Although the given time is insufficient, we will do our best to supplement and prepare until the last moment to keep our promise with our audience."
Next scheduled performances are July 3 at 7:30 PM and July 5 at 2:00 PM. Audience members who want to cancel due to the casting change can do so without fees until July 1 at 5:00 PM.
