Shin Mirae opens KBS1 Gayo舞台ep. 1953 as first performer

Shin Mirae takes the opening slot on KBS1's Gayo Mudae episode 1953, airing June 22 at 10 PM. She'll perform Shim Soobong's classic "Namjaneun Bae Yeojaneun Hanggu" (남자는 배 여자는 항구). The episode theme is Nam gwa Yeo (남과 여, "Man and Woman").

She announced the news herself, asking fans to tune in live. Fourteen other artists follow: Yang Jieun, Oh Yujin, Shin Yu, Na Sangdo, Na Taeju, Seo Jukyung, Cheon Gayeon, Hong Jiyoon, Na Young, Kang Jin, Jin Sung, Kim Yongim, Park Hyesin, and Lee Eunha.

Shin Mirae (real name Shin Eunjin) debuted officially on December 13, 2014, with her first single album Sarangi Piryohabnida (사랑이 필요합니다). The track gained traction after a variety program picked it up as a theme song. Her 2017 second album led with "Jjaekjakjjaekjak" (째깍째깍), supported by "Nae Sarang Gogo," "Miwoyo," and "Geuttae Geu Saram." The title track became her signature song and has remained a live-stage staple. She released an EDM version in 2021, then dropped Joeun Gyejeore and Uahan Sarang back-to-back in 2022.

She also made it to the finals of Trot Jeongukchejon (트롯 전국체전). Tonight's opening performance brings that competition-stage cover to a prime-time broadcast slot. She married a non-celebrity in March 2022.
