THE SCOUT Season 1 wraps: 이산 wins, TOP8 set for Sept. 5 REBORN concert

THE SCOUT: 다시 태어나는 별 wrapped its first season on June 26. 이산 took the championship with 2261.6 points, running away with it.

All 16 original participants performed new songs for the finale, which aired live. The format kept everyone safe until this moment. Cumulative online voting reached 2,406,001 ballots. MC 김성주 laid it out: "Today, for the first time, an eliminated contestant will be decided."

이진 opened strong with city pop track PARADISE, claiming the first round. 이제빈 went next with rock ballad Why Why Why. 김유신 performed 네가 웃을 수 있다면. The third round belonged to 이산. His reinterpretation of 서울의 밤 hit 290 points—the session high. Judge 박소현 responded: "I think I would ticket a concert to see this." Closing performer 박민석 matched it exactly with 멈추지만 않는다면, also 290, tying them for the finale's top mark.

Final standings locked in the TOP8: 권의빈 (7th), 양태선 (6th), 이제빈 (5th), 조용환 (4th), 박민석 (3rd), 김유신 (2nd), and 이산 (1st). The eighth spot came down to 이진 vs. 최하람. 이진 won by 17 points. (Seventeen points. That's the margin between a concert slot and going home.) 최하람 finished 9th.

In the master category, DAY6's Young K led his four-member team to 4,592 combined points, winning the "Master of Masters" title. 이산, in tears, kept his winner's speech short: "I love music, and I love all those who supported me."

The TOP8 will perform at THE SCOUT: 다시 태어나는 별 REBORN on September 5 at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul. A Season 2 is in the works, with 이승철 having previously declared the show would continue as a seasonal format.
