'Wild Thing' OST '니가 좋아' MV hits 2M views; Ryu Seung-ryong drops new challenge version

The music video for 니가 좋아 — the signature song of character Choi Sung-gon from the film Wild Thing — surpassed 2 million views as of June 12, just three days after the film opened on June 9.

The song charted on music rankings immediately after its release. That's unusual. Actor Ryu Seung-ryong, who plays Choi Sung-gon, has been fueling the momentum himself. On May 27 he posted a video of himself singing in the character's short wig. On June 11 he followed up with multiple clips captioned "'Wild Thing' — GO to theaters!"

The challenge spread fast. Actors Lee Seong-min, Kim Mu-yeol, Jin Ki-joo, Ryu Seung-soo, and Kim Sun-ho all posted their own versions. Idols Winter (aespa), Kihyun (MONSTA X), and Ian (Hearts2Hearts) joined in.

Ryu Seung-ryong also addressed speculation circulating online, stating directly: "No debt to Oh Jung-se. Did not invest in the film. No alcohol, no cigarettes." A catcher version of the challenge is still under consideration.
